LibraryThing and CueCat

Just to indulge my perfectionist and organizational tendancies, I created an account at LibraryThing. So far, I've only entered our Redwall series by Brian Jacques. Just enough titles to play around with and figure out how the site works. A few other families in the homeschool group started an account, too. The book lists can be either private or public. For now, I'm keeping private. You can pay a minimal fee to upgrade your account (it's either an annual or lifetime fee) ... we'll see how it goes. This is just my kind of 'thing' though, so I'll probably find a way to acquire the lifetime membership!

This is a CueCat. It's a bar code scanner. It'll scan your books and enter all the information automatically into your LibraryThing account. You can purchase it from the website ... I could've borrowed from Fargo friends, but I'm not a patient person and I figured this would be a great way to help out my MIL, too. I started recording all her Little Golden books years ago, and CueCat can potentially save a lot of time (provided those books have a readable bar code).
