The True Heart Award was started by Jennifer at My Chocolate Heart. "Those who receive this award are of the sweetest nature. They are kind, friendly, funny, loving eager to share their love for Jesus with others, and brave in their efforts to reflect Him to this darkened world. They are the kind of folks you're blessed to know, even if it's only in the bloggy-sphere."

Honestly, I've been procrastinating on writing a blog post because of the Honest Scrap Award ... there are a few requirements for this award. 1) Say thanks and give a link to the presenter of the award, 2) Share 10 honest things about myself, 3) Present this award to 7 others whose blogs I find brilliant in content and/or design, or those who have encouraged me, 4) Tell those 7 people that they've been awarded Honest Scrap and inform them of these guidelines in receiving it.
10 Honest Things About Me:
1. I'm a bookworm. I enjoy reading and learning through reading. I don't have a favorite genre, but my reading has been heavily concentrated in non-fiction since entering my 30's.
2. I like to cook, do laundry, and don't mind washing windows, but please don't ask me to clean the bathrooms! I'm very thankful and blessed to have a husband and children (who are being trained by their father) to cover that last detestable task of household drudgery.
3. I am a perfectionist, and it does irk me when things don't go my way (lots to offer up in sacrifice there!).
4. I consider myself an introvert, but will lead if called upon. It takes a lot out of me, though, and I sometimes need alone time to 'recover' emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
5. I do not enjoy being pregnant ... I know there aren't many women who feel this way, but for me it is true. I love my babies and my kids. I even tend more toward attachment parenting than most, but just don't care for the nine months before they are born. Of course, if you read my blog you probably could figure that out from my lack of 'pregnant with joy' posts!
6. I love being Catholic and I truly enjoy learning about my Catholic faith! I'm so glad I'm able to pass it on to my children.
7. I yell too much during what I think is discipline. I'm working on it ... nuff said, although prayers are always appreciated.
8. I am organized, kind-of goes with the perfectionist tendancy. I like planning and being prepared in advance. I like sorting and lists and files and tubs and calendars. I can only think of two times where I've missed an appointment and I still don't think I've forgiven myself! I probably should ...
9. I am rarely sick and am so thankful for my good health.
10. I'm not going to fulfill the last requirements of this award. Oh My! I honestly don't read that many blogs, and quite a few that I do read were already recognized at the same time (then there are a few who don't care for this kind of thing, too ... they are kind of like chain letters, especially with so many requirements, so do I blame them??). I hope the creator doesn't find a way to punish my lack of follow-through! However, I am being honest ...
Well, that's a bit about me; hope you aren't shocked. Have a great day. After getting up so darn early (4a again), then going back to bed (6:45a) and starting over (7:30a), it's time to get on with the rest of this day.
Wow, that was really fun to read!! I think I could have written a lot of those for myself! Especially that pregnancy thing. I also am somewhere in the middle of being an extrovert and an introvert...I love people and visiting, but also love being home for down time, especially after a social thing.
ReplyDeleteI am one of those people who doesn't like blog awards...I'm sure you know that, I just like what you did, as a meme instead. I just think it leaves certain people out and don't like to do that. Blogging is just plain fun, that's it.
