Graham's Birthday Cake

Proof that you don't have to bake or decorate from scratch to end up with a cute character cake that will please your toddler! I purchased a plain marble cake frosted in white and I was fortunate enough to find Diego on top of a tub of play-doh at the grocery store, too. Thank goodness - otherwise I would have been copying pictures from a coloring book or easy reader to 'frost'/glue on the front (I could have done that, but this was much easier). The rest of the decor were left-overs from previous birthday cakes, including the red frosting which I saved from Dash's birthday cake in April (yes, frosting will keep that long).

  1. That is cute...Angela loves Dora now too! (although she had a "Care Bear" cake)

You do know that the stores will put the words on for free, don't you? Yours look great, I'm just sayin'!

  2. Yea, I know they do, but it was a Sunday afternoon & the bakery wasn't open. And Angelina's cake was purchased frozen from a small town grocery about 20 miles from the farm (ie. no access to free lettering there!).
