This blog is a record of our daily life ... the joys and struggles of raising our little flock to love life and the author of life, our Lord. There are many similarities between Christ's followers and a flock of sheep, thus the name of this blog. I'm trying to 'shepherd' my little flock to know and love Christ - this is my vocation.
I found this framed print (it's a reproduction - but beautiful) for Eva's birthday .... the print is called "A Little Shepherdess" and was originally painted by William-Adolphe Bouguereau in 1889.
When I was a kid, my mom bought me a picture of Jesus for my birthday (not sure which though) and I still have it hanging in my room, broken glass and all! I love it!
i love bourgeau....however you spell his name's....paintings. my FAVORITE is the one of the sorrowful mother. there is something about his technique...i just gave my son an antique picture of of the beheading of st. thomas more. they share a birthday and once upon a time he wanted that painting. well, of course when we moved here i asked him if he wanted it in his room now. well, the little snot said, "uh, well, not really......" and i said TOO BAD this picture IS going to hang in your room! and so it does. and as far as i know, he doesn't take it down when i am not looking :) st. thomas more, make intercession for this pigheaded teenage boy. and the like all the world through!
