Did you know that each chicken lays a specific color egg – yes, mine are all brown egg layers – but, each egg is a little different in color, shape and size. For instance, one of our layers produces eggs that are long and thin, they are kind-of pointy. Another lays brown eggs with dark brown speckles. Some of the eggs are a pinkish brown, others a tan or beige brown.
No, I haven’t figured out which hen lays each particular egg, yet. But, I hope I will one of these days. They usually lay eggs between 10am and 4pm. I just haven’t had enough time to sit in the hen coop for 6 hours to watch eggs being layed!
Not to mention delicious and nutritious! Thanks for your very fresh and beautiful eggs! I hate to even crack them :)
ReplyDeleteIt was great to see you all! BTW - leftovers from Cajun Cafe are awesome!
Oh by all means ... crack them! There are more where those came from!! We enjoyed the time with your family, too. Such fun to go to Mass at the Cathedral for Divine Mercy. The Cajun Cafe was a real treat on a special day. Thankfully, the kids were good during our class later that afternoon, too. I'm sure it helped that they were able to run off some steam at your house. Zeke said it was his 'best' Sunday!
