Tuesday DayLook - December 1

For Today: December 1, 2009

Looking out my back porch... the wind really picked up between this morning and this afternoon.  There is supposedly a storm being blown into the area ... it wouldn't surprise me.

I am thinking... it's already December?!?  and Happy Advent!

I am thankful for... a busy, but fun-filled weekend.

From the sewing/craft room (aka. laundry room!)… just laundry, but lots of it.

From the school room... seems like the kids are taking a long time to get their work done.  Zeke is doing better with Sound Beginnings and his handwriting has really improved with the daily practice.  Angelina likes to just get done and works quite well on her own (although, she doesn't really like to do work over when that is called for...).  Dash, when he gets done on time, is allowed to go out and help with harvest - his help is welcome and needed on our small farm.

From the kitchen... I made two blueberry pies before Thanksgiving.  One was for sharing on Thanksgiving day, the other was for visitors on Saturday.  Blueberry pie is my second favorite fruit pie - peach is first!

I am reading... I'm lucky to get the mail read!

I am hoping... that I'll find time to get to town for groceries.

I am hearing... the whistle of the wind as it blows around our house.  And, the kids are quiet because I relented and let them watch a movie.

State of the house… the edges were just cleaned by Dash!  The laundry is being done and the kitchen isn't too bad.  Everything else could use help.

A successful moment… Baby Louis is sleeping and thus letting me post this brief update.

A few plans for the rest of the week…
Monday:  Angelina's dance classes resume on Monday evening, so the three youngest boys and I made the trip to take her to class.  Hubby will be at meetings (and away from home) starting today and running through Wednesday.  Dash helped Grandpa Green Acres and a neighbor continue with our corn harvest while his Dad is gone.

Tuesday and Wednesday: No huge plans.  I do need to get groceries (there's no milk left - that hardly ever happens), so I will get to the grocery store on Tuesday.

Thursday: Back to my responsibilites as advisor for my college fraternity ... have an executive meeting tonight.  My sister, who is also an advisor, will be riding back to the farm with me after the meeting.  I'm glad for the company and extra help with Baby Louis.

Friday/Saturday/Sunday: Eric and Dash are headed into Fargo on Saturday so Dash can attend Knights of the Altar.  The Christmas program - yes, already - at our country church is scheduled for Sunday.  Angelina and Zeke each have a line they've memorized and they have practice on Saturday morning.

Sleeping babes do not sleep forever, so no pics today.   Other tasks rise to the top of the to-do list!  I hope to have a few posts of Thanksgiving and Baby Louis' Baptism later this week.

  2. Beautiful flowers. I hope that sweet baby is doing well. I'm amazed that you make the trip to Fargo as often as you seem to do. I would be way overwhelmed with it!
