I've wanted to cut the Dr. Pepper for quite some time. But....I actually like the flavor and it's a pick-me-up on those days of low energy, so it hasn't been easy to root out. The part I like the least is that it contains so many empty calories; and no, I don't drink diet anything. I'd rather go without than drink diet sodas - I can taste the sweetner and don't care for the flavor.
As an interesting side note, did you know that Dr. Pepper is one of the few (quite possibly only) sodas that can still be purchased in its original formulation?? I learned this interesting fact when visiting TX a few years ago.

Back to my struggle. The final can from the pack was savored on Thursday, February 12. I have persevered thus far and not purchased any to store at home (although I have purchased Dr. Pepper with a meal when in town - I consider this a treat). With Lent coming, I don't plan to buy more.
I have prayed for an end to this craving. That seemed to help for a while, and then I somehow picked up the habit again. Well, something must be working for my cause again, because I honestly am not craving it at all. Thank goodness! Pop/Soda should be an occaisional treat and not an everyday drink.
