February Rain?

View from the School Room Window

The rain started last night and continues today. It is damp and cloudy. The temperature is 34 degrees F; no sleet, yet. We have piles of snow all around the house, the driveway is lined by snow and it is raining. This weather is just plain odd. This storm is supposed to bring up to a foot of snow, too. On the bright side, I'll be grateful because it will cover up the dirty, pock-marked snow piles and make everything look clean again.

I'm glad to stay home today.

Looking out a rain spattered window, this is the view of our snow-lined driveway - soon to be ice peaks, I'm sure.

  1. Odd weather indeed!! We just got in from a soggy time playing. The kids are soaked! I got half of the driveway scraped off. We had to go in - it was really starting to rain hard!
The weather is SO weird that we actually got out our weather book and read it. It's all about all the different weather anomolies. We too commented on the windows "crying" as we ate breakfast!
I'd better run - we are having a "Little House on the Prairie" day today and tomorrow. Her birthday was on Saturday. We are reading her books today (like normal!:) but we are making our table into a "cover wagon" by draping a sheet over it and adding some reigns and a few horses in the front. SO much FUN!
We are going to do more crafts and meals tomorrow, I still need to get a craft going for today! Morning chores, schoolwork, Casewise delivery, lunch, cleanup, and outside time has taken all of the day! :)
GREAT to see you and get a hug on Sat. Miss you!
