In Conversation…

As mentioned in earlier posts, while Methe’s were visiting, Michelle and I talked about everything.  Basically catching up on four years of living and raising kids that had occurred since the last time we were together.  Nothing is off limits!  She knows me very well; I hold very little back and she is the same.

During one of our conversations about discipline, we were talking about our methods and difficult spots with different children.  Each child reacts in his/her own way, and we react differently to them as well.  I know I can get loud and I yell.  It would be awesome if I didn’t, and I often regret my yelling and sometimes my actions.  There is always that thought that I might break ‘the child’s spirit.’  Now, I don’t really think this will happen, but a mother worries, ya know??

Michelle was reassuring.  I can’t remember how she lead into it, but at a certain point, she mentioned that one of her friends stated during a conversation, “And, this is me with Christ!”

Now, that statement gives one pause….

Yes, and this is ME with Christ!

I’ll be pondering that for quite some time.

Having Michelle here was like having a mini spiritual retreat brought to me in my own home.  Many thanks, dear friend.

A somewhat challenging and exciting opportunity was presented to me at the beginning of this week.  I’ve been praying, thinking and talking about it with specific people.  Please pray that I’m shown the correct decision.  Thanks!

  2. Praying for you and your exciting opportunity. I've really enjoyed your latest posts. Would you please add the wonderful blueberry/creamcheese french toast to your cooking blog. I know your mom reads your blog so I would like to take this opportunity to thank you Sharon for the Holy cards. I must say that St. Lucy's prayer to help me see things as they are has revealed much about myself. I tend to beat myself up and only see the bad and she has helped me to focus on the good. Please keep praying for me. ~Michelle

  3. Thanks Suz for the Storm Prayers, will keep them handy. Also Michelle - another short prayer that I repeat everyday that helps me focus on the wonderful things that God is doing in my life - like in just the last week had the opportunity to attend Mass that was offered by the priest that witessed our marriage 41 years ago(had thought & Prayed about him but hadn't seen him)- this is also the month (27th-2008)that my MIL died and have thought & prayed for her often- yesterday saw a hummingbird -she loved them, and I haven't seen one for years - this little prayer was given at a Parish Mission by a wonderful blind Capuchin priest:
Mary, help me to see Gods love for me today.
Also Suz - absolutely love the Countryside magazine & the oven canning offers a wonderful solution to my freezer flour! Love & Prayers - God is Awesome

  4. Thank you for the prayers, friends! My decision must wait, as other factors affect my ability to 'do' the opportunity. Will let you know more later. Continued prayer is welcomed.
