2011 Achievement Days-DAY 1

LaMoure county 4-H Achievement Days was held on June 28-29.  This is a small county; the kids completed a large number of projects; all the kids did very well.

Today’s events include static exhibit judging, Showcase (Project Expo, Sew & Show, Buy & Show), Consumer Choices, Fashion Revue workshop, BBQ, and the Fashion Revue.

I didn’t get one single photo during the morning because I worked as a Judge’s Helper.  But, I had a great time visiting with the judge (Tally P.) and seeing all the fiber arts and childcare projects.  During brief lulls in judging, we talked about chickens, kids, and the similarities/differences between 4-H in MT and ND.

This is the first year, in many years, that they’ve held the Showcase during Achievement Days.  It makes for a busy day, but I liked that it was all on this day.  We didn’t have to set aside another time during May/June, and Angelina had more time to get her sewing done!  Cuz, she sure wasn’t done sewing any too early this year.

The turquoise dress was made of duct tape!  Really cool, but I cannot imagine it was very ‘cool’ to wear on a hot day.
