I’m both super excited and a little scared. So much to remember and the chicks of my childhood are memories from a long time ago. I’ll order the chicks from Stromberg’s within the next couple weeks.
This blog is a record of our daily life ... the joys and struggles of raising our little flock to love life and the author of life, our Lord. There are many similarities between Christ's followers and a flock of sheep, thus the name of this blog. I'm trying to 'shepherd' my little flock to know and love Christ - this is my vocation.

It is begun…
the process of getting ready to raise chicks!! The supplies are ordered. The chicks themselves will be ordered later. I’m pretty sure I’d like to take delivery of the chicks in April, but I have to do a bit more figuring first … like will my ‘crew’ of harvesters be available in 10-12 weeks for butchering (it’s not a nice word, but it is ‘what it is’).

I am jealous. You are so lucky. It will be a few years before I get chickens. NO COOP!
ReplyDeleteWe are talking about getting some chicks this year too! We need to hurry though as time is running out! You will love raising your chicks. We have done it before and it can be so rewarding. Hubby actually has some of them so tamed they would eat out of his hand!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for you all and can't wait to see the whole process!
