Looking out from my back porch... it’s a little gray and gloomy.
I am thankful for... the feast days which help break up the school year from its monotony and doldrums.
I am reading… still working on the purgatory book, but only because I haven’t had much time to read. If I had un-interrupted time, it’d be done.
I am praying for...perseverance and strength in faith for a friend in a mixed-faith marriage.
I am hearing... just squeaky chair noises.
I am wearing… jeans and a t-shirt.
From the sewing/craft room (aka. laundry room!)… Graham received a foam nativity craft kit today in celebration of St. Nicholas’ feast. He got to work right away (without help), but needed a little help later on to get it put together correctly.
From the School Room... complaints about writing abound, but I’m trying not to ‘make life too easy’ for my students and will not give in to their demands for less writing. Quite frankly, everyone needs the practice. Little do they know that if they wrote neatly and completed their assignments fully without my having to check… I’d consider letting them type!!
From the Kitchen... peanut better balls covered in chocolate for a Friday cookie exchange, Ham & Swiss cheese quiche, Beef roast leftovers made into a variety of meals, Doughnut muffins, Raspberry Jammy bit scones.
From the FarmYard… one of the Ameraucana’s lays the prettiest light blue eggs. They remind of Robin eggs.
A successful moment… the garage freezer was defrosted and rearranged to store the 100lbs of venison sausage that came on Saturday. Even though I was watching my nephew (6mos older than Louis) and Louis on Saturday without benefit on any other hands in the house, I was able to clean and bake almost all day.
A few plans for the rest of the week…
Tuesday: Haircut & Dance for Angelina.
Wednesday: Dance make-up lesson for Angelina.
Thursday: Feast of the Immaculate Conception – Mass in the morning. Evening meeting in Fargo for Suzie.
Friday/Saturday/Sunday: Women of Grace on Friday morning and cookie exchange that afternoon. Angelina has a Christmas dance program on Friday evening. The BISON play on Saturday. Sunday will be a day of REST; but we may decide to put up our Christmas tree.
A picture memory... my little double-dipper.
Happy St. Nicholas Day!
